The Party's Over

It is my last day of maternity leave. It has been one crazy ride these last (almost) 7 months. I am sure it is going to get much crazier as of tomorrow. But Will and I have been very lucky and have enjoyed it thoroughly. That said, the now "weekly" slideshow will probably become "monthly" slideshow, and posting may be less frequent, but we will do our best to keep everyone up to speed as best we can on our little man's fast and furious development.

The current speed of Will is .00002 MPH

Will is getting around. Not quickly, but he is moving. We took this video yesterday and today he seems to be moving at about .00004 MPH. That is double the speed of yesterday - not too shabby.

A battle of Wills

This is definitely our kid. He's got a bit of a stubborn streak. He really likes to feed himself. He does not so much like to be fed. This requires 2-3 spoons at each meal. One in my hand, one in his hand, and one on the table or floor. Then we rotate.

Oh, and he discovered how to scream to express his displeasure. Or just for the sake of screaming. So he does it a lot. When we were in Detroit we were at a restaurant with a creature we called "Raptor Baby" in honor of the shrieks which reverberated through the establishment and my brain. Family Ski Trip!!!

This past week Claudia, Will and I took a family trip to Vermont. We had lots of fun and Will really, really, really likes Vermont. It just had a good vibe to him and lots of snow. I got 4 really good days of snowboarding in. Mom got a massage, a win for everyone. Will pretty much just chilled out in the cabin. I saw it in his eyes - he wanted to be out there. As soon as he can he will be skiing.

Now you may be asking yourself what is this picture here? Why does Will have that hat on?



My Tyrolia hat has special skull protecting powers and it was given to me on my first trip to Jay Peak by "The Bozz". I was given this hat because I forgot to bring one on a ski trip. In the winter it is usually on my head. Its an excellent hat, very warm and protective. Some may not like its light odor (Claudia) but Will knew the deal. Other than that it really doesn't match anything but I don't care, its an awesome hat. A shout out to Brian's wool rasta hat that was literally melting off his head. Some how this hat ended up in the streets of park slope. Too many cars ran over the hat and it could no longer be worn.

Now family ski trips aren't all fun and games. Packing the car almost killed me because we have a family packing problem. Claudia over packs and I bring useless items, a deadly combination. I think it took at least 10 trips for me to load the car. The most useless item I brought was a Star Wars novel "The Han Solo Adventures". I knew I wouldn't read it, not a chance; but I packed it anyway just in case. Claudia loves to pack like 50 little bags instead of 4 large bags. As I am loading the car she is filling other little bags. The killer was the exersaucer. Not an easy item to pack. I ended up putting the top in the passenger seat so I could listen to a cow moo, a dog bark, a cat meow, and a duck quack. When we got to Vermont the stuff literally filled the living room. I was in a fury about how much junk we brought up. After I unpacked the car it was all gravy until I had to pack it up again. The only thing we didn't pack is Will's bottle. Amazing. Reminds me of the time I went to Colorado for a month and didn't bring any underwear. Or when I forgot my pants for our rehearsal dinner.

Happy Half Year Will!!!

Will is 6 months old today and what a day it was. He celebrated by refusing to be put down and basically spit up on everything. A tooth is on its way and he isn't too happy about it....

Yes, we are in the throes of pre-teething. And Will has basically started to crawl. He can get in to a full push-up, and then on to his toes. He's very much enjoying thumping on stuff with his flat hands.






















Everything within reach of those hands goes right in to his mouth. He's definitely a bit uncomfortable, but still managing to smile and play most of the time. On our trip home to NY for the holidays, we ran him ragged jumping from house to house and all he wanted to do was talk and play with everyone. And chew on his hands and feet.
